The research stage of this project consisted of understanding the brand I'm designing for as well as understanding the product and its purpose.
Alyx has a very distinct brand identity. Through the research of their collections, books, and attendance at panel discussions by Matthew Williams, I gained an understanding of the visual identity of the brand.

The iconic Alyx rollercoaster buckle holds the bag closed, allowing the bag opening process to be simple and satisfying.
The leather body resists wear and is stiff enough to protect the contents, while still rolling up easily.
